New Hampshire Senate District 10
Hello Everyone! What a beautiful day; I hope you’re all finding a moment to get out and enjoy the spectacular and exhilarating fall foliage. How fortunate we are to live in the Monadnock Region!
This week I’m attending the Advanced Manufacturing Summit in Concord. Then, as senate committee member I’ll be attending the Charter School Oversight committee in Concord.
Also as senate committee member, I’m attending the Home Education Advisory Council. I look forward to working with the Commissioner of Education, Dr. Virginia Barry, who will also be attending.
Later I’ll be speaking with small business leaders at Hannah Grimes about New Hampshire's economic status, as well as the 2008 and 2009 legislation.
Future legislation is also the topic at a meeting with Keene City officials.
I’ve got a conference call with the US Department of Education, and a meeting with senate colleagues and the Council for Children & Adolescents w/Chronic Health Conditions.
Later I’ll be meeting with the Director of QED Foundation.
On Thursday I’m attending the NH Charitable Foundation Annual Meeting.
And I’m looking forward to being present at the New England Secondary School Consortium Council as a Council member. Our Council is committed to fostering forward-thinking educational innovations through pioneering educational partnerships. Through these programs we hope to guarantee our young people myriad opportunities to prepare themselves for the future.
Later I’ll be attending a state meeting on the New Hampshire’s Welcome Information Centers (WIC).
I’m excited to welcome Keene State College students to the State House, and I’ll be working with Senate Education Committee members on bills that were referred from the 2009 legislative session.
My family and I are very much looking forward to Pumpkin Festival! We’ll be attending Family Night on Friday, and enjoying what we hope will be a crisp, beautiful Saturday. Hope to see you all there!
Oh, and yes, the college basketball season officially starts Thursday, October 15th!
